This is my first time on a Dragons Age title, and I did not know to back up older save points. so I have none - I've been using the same save the entire time.
You don't even have an autosave before this happened?
To be fair, I don't see how this is on BioWare. You are always warned before starting a main story missions what the recommended level is so you can prepare in advance.
I understand your argument, but really how hard would it have been for them to add a 'leave dungeon' (spawn outside) option? Doesn't matter, I guess I'm screwed, and I've made my decision not to support this company/game anymore - I'm not very happy, regardless if I it was my mistake to go into a dungeon that is a bit too high for me (that I don't ever recall seeing mind you).

You can start a new game, and learn from your mistakes. If you were enjoying the game, you will enjoy it the second time.
But unfortunately the developers gave you the safety net of save games. It is tough to blame them if you ignored the systems they put in place for this kind of thing. But I hope you are able to enjoy other RPGs in the future. But you should always take advantage of multiple saves in any game you play. Many games, not even RPGs can run into bugs that make you lose all your progress if you rely on just one save or autosaves. It is a new mindset you should try to get into to enjoy future games.
Good luck!
