Hinterlands quest at Valammar.

I found the cave behind the waterfall at Valammar, I can open the door but the cave inside is empty and I can't seem to go anywhere -- I am blocked, so I can't find the leader and thus can't kill him.

Okay, I went back there a second time and then there was a "button" to open Valammar -- so now it's okay and I've finished that quest. but please, I still don't know how to use veilfire to get the rune off the wall. Help!

i think you're supposed to talk to varric and his lady friend in Skyhold before going there.

You need a mage to right click on veilfire lantern on wall to "energize it", then have any character right-click on lit lantern to light a veilfire torch that they can carry around.

What I was missing was that all you had to do was to "look" at it in veilfire light. So, everything's okay now. Thanks All.
