How can I tell if the Dragon Age Keep export worked?

I played for several hours until I got to the place where I could ask Varric about Hawk's companions, and he said that Isabela returned to the raiders. But in my Dragon Age Keep settings, I specified that she returned to Hawk. Does that mean the export failed? At no point did I get an error during the export or import. I just don't want to continue playing if my history is wrong.

Did you press the export button on the Dragonagekeep.com area? It is located on the right, should bring a whole side menu showing the heroes you picked and ssome of the choice with a fat button that says export.''

After that when you created your character there should have been a prompt to use the custom world. If you did the world after creation then you have to make a new character.

  • Yes, I did both of those things, so it appeared to work. But when Varric said Isabela returned to the raiders, I started wondering if something went wrong. That's the question, though: how can I tell? Does everyone's game say that Isabela returned to the raiders, even when she returned to Hawk with the tome? I'm just very hesitant to put in 80 hours on a game only to find out the history is all "wrong".

  • This was another issue I came across. When asking about Hawke, Varric said Anders disappeared, but didn't mention (as per my playthrough) that he was with Hawke.
So far everything seems okay with the Warden, but I'm not sure about Hawke.
It would be nice if like when imporsting to DA:2 we could look at a brief list of the decisions made so we know for sure that our game history is being imported.

I'm in the same boat Codester70. My Hawke Romanced Isabela and she stayed with him at the end... It looked like my import from the Keep worked fine with no errors but like you said when I talked with Varric about Hawks companions he said Isabela returned to the raiders. It has me wondering if the import worked or if that plays into this story at all... 80 hours to find out it didn't go though would really be upsetting.

  • I decided to start a new character and pay more attention to the world import, which said was successful. However, as soon as I was able to ask Varric about Isabela, he responded the same. Is this a bug in DAK or DAI? Is this how the story goes? If so, I'm disappointed. Regardless, I'm not sure I feel comfortable playing this game further until there is an official response to this. Yes, it is that important to me! 🙂

It's also possible to consider that it's just Varric's response regardless. Varric is a storyteller and will often tell you himself when you ask him personal questions that he's bound to make stuff up. He and Hawke were friends, and at the end of DA2 he refused to provide much detail about his whereabouts to Cassandra. It's likely that he's protecting Hawke and his companions by lying about their whereabouts or where they ended up.

Okay, so is everyone else being told that Carver is alive? I'm my DA2 campaign Carver died in the beginning and Bethony died latter on. What is Verric saying about that?
  • I am also checking the upload data when you first start the game, and it matches up with the keep. I really hope this gets sorted out soon, I didnt realise until about 10 hours into the game and its really putting me off playing more, and I cant even start a new game without it messing up. It feels like a waste to miss out on extra contect ect because of an error with the keep
