How to get Save Dragon Age II and Dragon Age: Inquisition back from Cloud?

Greetings EA community. I'm a fan of the Dragon Age series, and the last time I played Dragon Age II (late 2021 and never launched after that) and Dragon Age: Inquisition (2022 first quarter and second time already 2024). When I played Dragon Age II and Dragon Age: Inquisition, I ran them through Steam, which ran, at the time, them through EA Origin, and all saves were saved accordingly to the EA Origin cloud. But one day it was necessary to reinstall the comp, and accordingly all local files found in c/document disappeared. And here I start Dragon Age: Inquisition in 2024, and instead of EA Origin I have EA App, and the game starts, and, I did not realize, there was no continue button. Did a lot of things, but the old 2022 saves from the cloud wouldn't load in any way.

Question,

Are the saves from EA Origin inherited in EA App?
If the saves are inherited, I assume the old saves were overwritten by the new 2024 saves in Dragon Age: Inquisition after the new launch in EA App.
But
Dragon Age II I never launched once, after going through. The Dragon Age II save should be stored in the EA Origin cloud, untouched).
Is it possible to restore old saves of Dragon Age II and Dragon Age: Inquisition from EA Origin cloud (or EA App, if they are there)?

I'm not sure if the EA cloud is used when you launch the game from Steam, but if you launch the game on your new computer and there are no saves downloaded to your device, then there are no saves in the cloud anymore and there is no way to to access this saves in any other way.

The cloud is a quality of life feature, not a reliable backup source, so if you care about your backups, you should back them up manually.

  •  I don't understand you. Are you saying that EA never had cloud saves? Even Origin didn't have cloud save? Then why did origin complain at the time that the save files in the cloud do not match the local one, sometimes.

I found a screenshot from the Internet
"Origin syncs your saved games to the cloud, allowing you to access and continue playing them from an Origin-enabled computer"

No, I said if there are no cloud saves downloaded to your device when you first start a game, then there are no cloud saves available on the server anymore.

With EA app the cloud save feature is automated, so it either works right away or not at all, and if it don't works it is mot likely because there are no saves available in the cloud.

  • holger1405 thank you for your answers. I was able to pull out a save for Dragon Age 2 from EA Origin, but the saves from Inquisition were overwritten by other saves, Ie the EA app erased my previous saves.
The reddit origin community helped me with this. And there are a lot of dissatisfied people there. Many people think EA app is a terrible app.

Also, as a user I want to say EA app is a terrible app, erased saves from Dragon Age: Inquisition. Such a terrible attitude from EA to players and fans.

I agree that EA is a sub-optimal application, but as I said, the cloud save feature is a quality of life feature, not a reliable backup source.

If you have data on your PC that is important to you, you need to make sure that you back it up, no one else is going to do it for you.
