How to install Dragon Age 2 DLCs on Steam?

I was gifted a copy of Dragon Age 2 (Standard Edition) on Steam by a friend some time ago. Now, with the release of the Ultimate Edition, the Standard Edition has been delisted, along with its separate DLCs.

I've read in other threads that I can download the DLCs from the support page. However, when I run the installer, it says I need to have Dragon Age 2 installed—even though I already have it, via Steam. My game is installed on the D drive, but I’ve tried moving it to the C drive, and the same error persists.

Do I need to purchase the Ultimate Edition again to access the DLCs, or is there another way to obtain them?

Update: I was able to install the Legacy DLC using the installer. I'm not sure exactly what I did, but I messed around with the "Repair" options in the DragonAge2Config.exe tool and saved the settings afterward.

However, now I have another problem: the DLC is not authorized, and I can't resume my game. I'm already logged into my account in the game.

@Yazakyn The unauthorized only happens when the content and game don't match. You don't own it, its been moved, on different drives, etc.

You should be able to just repair the game and run the updater from the install folder. The issue could be different drives though. They really should be on the same drive as the game and Steam.

Also, you use the patch updated on the help site with the DLC. This has also fixed it. I tested it myself as I still have the original copy and was able to get it up and running.
