I think you have the same issue as us on this thread :
http://answers.ea.com/t5/Dragon-Age-2/Dragon-Age-2-won-t-start-MAC/m-p/1485157#U1485157
I get I get the activation.dll error. I raised a support case which has been escalated to an Expert team for further review (no direct line as far as im aware so just email based).

I solved this task.
I installed DA2 from /Library/Application Support/Origin/DownloadCache and patch

I can confirm that this solution worked for me.

Doesn't work on my mac, running 10.8.4 mountain lion.

This solution does NOT work for me. There is no Download Cache in /Library/Application Support/Origin/ and I cannot run any of the files.

That solution does not work with the latest OS patch as, like others have said, the directory is empty.
The problem is, the Activation.DLL is completely missing. If someone who has a working copy of the game, could choose Show Package Contents of the Mac OS X verison of Dragon Age II, and browse to Contents/resources/transgaming/c_drive/Program Files/Dragon Age 2/bin_ship/ and see if there is an Activation.dll in there.
I tried one from a windows install of another EA game, and of course, it gave me an EXE error. If someone should locate the actual file that is missing, we would be able to play.
I find EA's support on this issue completely unacceptable. Especially given the amount of EA games I've purchased over the past 20 years.
If someone also has a trouble ticket open, it'd be great to add that to the ticket, that the Activation.dll is completely missing.
