I can't make a new character, and my mods aren't the problem.

I recently got back into Dragon Age Inquisition after not touching it for almost a year. I'd never played it with mods before, so I decided to give it a shot. I got the latest Frosty Mod Manager, went into the nexus and picked out everything I wanted for a new gaming experience.
I had some difficulties before, but worked them out by deleting anything that was incompatible with each other, repairing my game, and restarting my computer. I was able to make a few new games for myself so that I could play through different classes and romance arcs.
Recently however, I haven't been able to create any new characters, or even load in my other characters save for the one I got past the tutorial zone. I thought that maybe I'd messed up the other saves by accidentally deleting a mod that they needed in order to run. So, I double-checked my mod list, deleted those saves and repaired the game again.
I tried creating a new character again. I managed to get to the point where I chose my race, class and difficulty. It uploaded my world state and started in with the loading process and I thought everything was just peachy. I knew it might take awhile because I had several mods that needed to load in.
But even after waiting for 8+ hours, I never got past the black loading screen with the little flashing Inquisition symbol in the corner. The one save I didn't delete still loads up and runs just fine. All the mods I'm using are working for that save.
I checked and checked and checked again to make sure my mods had no conflicts or game-breaking bugs, but they're all perfectly fine. I do NOT understand why my game is being so difficult. I can't make any more characters and I don't know why.
Please tell me somebody else has had this problem, or at least has some idea what might be wrong? I've looked all over for solutions but I can't seem to find any.

  • Remove all mods, repair game and see if it works.  If it does, then mod is issue, if it doesn't then you look elsewhere.   Let us know the result, and good luck.
