I initally got Investigate the Strange Chalk Markings to show up on the War Table, but I didn't immediately have an advisor do the mission. The next time I looked at the War Table, the mission was gone.
This also happened during my last playthrough. It disappears and never shows back up.

Community AdminIt shares a space with A Present for Bianca, if you move around the cursor in that area, can you grab the mission? Do you have the Eagled Eyed perk. There are some issues with that particular Operation space.
Apart from being in almost the same position, this actually appears to be by design, as it happens when you progress "Choose Successor in Lydes: Part 1". I went back to my save before that point (only an hour of gameplaty for me) and completed it before moving this Lydes mission set on.
It may also be a bug, but it is a repeatable issue.
It's gone right now and there's nothing in that space at all. I'm not all that far along in my game. And, no, I don't have Eagle Eye just yet.
