Is there a way to see if armor has slots before crafting it?

I have noticed when crafting that some armor comes with upgrade slots and others do not. Does anyone know if you can tell before crafting the armor if it has slots for arms and legs before doing so?

I am bumping this. I think it would be nice to know before making a armor set if it has customizable slots for hands, feet, grips, hafts, etc.
