Is there an option to turn off nudity or strong language?

Hi Players/EA,

Do any of you know if there is an in-game option to turn off or avoid nudity in Dragon Age Inquisition? I'd also like to know if there is a way to turn off "strong language" if possible. I have an Xbox One and would like to know before I purchase a copy. Thank you.

Thanks for replying. What about ways to avoid nudity scenes in game? Are those all optional? Or does the game always take you through them?

  • Not possible as an on/off option. It's all under player's control. To avoid nudity, player shouldn't pursue romances. If you stick just to friendship with everyone, no nudity will be shown.

Just so you are aware, the game is rated PEGI 18 so persons under that age should not be playing DA: I

  • No. The game is rated M and has listed in every single trailer and on the game box itself as well as game descriptions within origin WHY it is rated M. Strong language, violence, nudity, etc. If you aren't okay with those things you probably shouldn't have purchased the game.

Thank you for all of your comments and insights. I have not yet purchased the game, am not under 18, and am not looking into this for someone else. I'd like to get it because I love the Elder Scrolls series, but that franchise is a lot more tame when it comes to strong language and nudity. Thanks again for all your help.

Honestly, I don't think the nudity and strong language is as bad as it seems. Varric says sh*t a lot, and I think Ironbull says f*ck a bit. If you want to know what the nudity is like, go on youtube and look up romance scenes. You can decide for yourself if they're too much for you. I think at most you're just gonna see chest and legs, and them implying they did the deed by waking up in bed together. I know for sure Cullen's romance scene was just his upper body and legs being shown while my Inquisitor skillfully blocked out any naughty bits. Same with Ironbull, however your companions do bust down the door during your alone time with him and they all get an eyeful of him, but you still don't see a thing.

I do believe it is avoidable, and to all you who think he should not have bought the game because it is M rated and that he needs to deal with it, please realize that all people are different in what they find as acceptable content. I as well find that sexual themes and watching that stuff in a game is just perverted and bizarre.  Also there are plenty of games rated mature, that feature no nudity, so the rating of the game should have no bearing on what he "should" be able to "handle." That said, people should also be allowed their own opinion, and if someone kindly asks if he can avoid or remove such content, that we should respect that opinion, not patronize him for purchasing the game in the first place.

    Skiv out.

  • The only (and very brief) nudity appears if/when you decide to consummate a romantic liaison.  Which it is totally within your control to decline, and which scene you can skip with a quick press of the [Esc] key.

"Strong" language, on the other hand, is a little less avoidable.  Several of your companions have a coarser vocabulary than you might like.  Although I must say it fits their personalities very well.
