I picked up one of the letters - the one near the Riverwatch camp - before I started the quest. It hasn't updated, and is still showing 6/7 letters found so I can't finish the quest. I've done a lot of stuff since then so loading a previous save isn't really an option. Does anyone know if there's a work around? And does finishing this quest lead to any other quests?I'm playing on PC btw.

So right after reading this post I randomly found that soldier letter that is supposed to be just north east of the Riverwatch camp! It's actually NOT on the map where the marker indicates. It's almost directly east from the camp, nearly within spitting distance. You'll see a human skeleton trapped underneath a dead, rotting rhino creature. It's right by the curve of the fence near the path.

@perpetualascent I was having this issue too but I found it. It doesn’t light up when you do the search button. If you walk over by the broken cart by the dead animal I’m assuming was pulling the cart on the road, it’s by his back and the button to pick up the item will show. Again it doesn’t light up with the search button.

In the quest I'm to track down "Servis" kick his you know what, then talk to him as he's lying on the ground post fight. I wasn't sure what was coming and was at low health so fast travelled to sky hold to re supply and when I returned, he was gone but the quest marker and progress are stuck at the point between winning the fight and talking to servis.

Same exact problem for me as well - had one letter before the quest started, and now I'm at 6/7... I can see the letter (the one by the gallows) but it's not clickable.

Same issue. I've already encountered Servis and judged him in Skyhold. Apparently I didn't loot him because I'm 6/7 and the quest is incomplete.

IIRC, the letter that is right next to the gallows for Left to Grieve(where you are looking for 7 soldiers last letters) isn't the one you need for the quest. IIRC it is in that area, but behind one of the siege weapons inside the battlement/defense areas.
I am on PC and I had 5 of the 7 letters in had before I picked up the quest...don't know if I just got lucky...or if the letters you found wasn't the right ones.

Same problem, picked up one of the letters before quest started. Stuck at 6/7 and the only marker left is where I found the original letter. So yes its bugged

Same exact problem. 6/7 letters found, the southern most of the camps left to search, though I can't remeber picking anything up there while clearing it out.

Several of the letters are located "in the vicinity", but not at the exact spot, of the marker.

Go there, then start "Searching" in a widening circle. You'll find them all! 🤓
