loading, Dragon Age :Origins, popup window, then crash(win 7 home premium)

When loading, Dragon Age :Origins shows a small popup containing a yellow caution symbol with an exclamation point inside and a button that says OK. when I click the button, Dragon Age :Origins shuts down, any one know what is going on with that? I am running win 7 home premium 32 bit, but game compatibility is set to Vista sp 2

@ EA_David, thank you for your quick response and for your suggestions for possible fixes,. however neither worked. In light of some other posts I have read here I tried re-installing direct-x

but that did nothing either. So as requested, attached is the Dxdiag, I hope you can find a fix for this problem.

I somehow doubt that dx is the problem tho as I have a number of other graphics intensive games on this system that work just fine, such as MassEffect,  ANNO 1404,  DragonAge2,  the Homeworld trilogy and Sacred 1 and 2. And finally, as to your question, no, other than OK on the button there is no text in the popup box, just the yellow triangle with an exclamation point inside.

Hello? Anyone? Has no one ever had this problem before, or at least an idea/guess what might be wrong ? I know that my hardware meets the required minimum, and it my software is good as well, could it be a configuration problem? I have tried to run it in just about every compatibility mode there is, none of this makes any difference, So, can anyone give me even a hint as to what to try next??? Ii worked fine on my old dell laptop (a second hand Latitude, lol). . .
