Loot is stuck in wall above door

Reload an earlier save. Alterenatively, depending on where exactly it is, you might be able to jump to it. You don't need to be close to it past activating the "Press A to loot" prompt. See if you can parkour your way close enough, just smash the applicable button, and if you're lucky you'll be able to open the menu.

I dont know how falling will affect it, if at all. I've gotten plenty of shards this way, but I mostly just slide down slopes or drop a very small distance.

I got a key item loot stuck above a doorway, no way to get close, and the save slot was 2hours difference where I did many quests :/ anyhow, I get out and in the map (fast travel to skyreach) witch reset the enemy that drops the item, killed it on a different place to avoid same problem

but basically you have to open the door from the outside, jump from the dresser inside the room onto the door and you should be able to get it. couple years late, i know, but it’s probably helpful for those who still have the same problem right now. december 2020 and they still haven’t fixed this glitch :/

It's 2022. Just ran into this same glitch thank you for providing this reply saved me hours from having to back to an old save.
