Memento of Legacy not showing up in game

Currently I have the Legacy DLC installed on my computer. It is listed under the installed content on Dragon Age 2 but it is not showing up in game. I have in the past completed it at least once with a different character but now it won't show up for any other character. The room contains only the unusable statue from the Mark of the Assassin DLC (Already played it) but no statue for legacy.

It is listed on my content in the Bioware Social Network as well. It was purchased through the BSN website probably a week or two after it was released.

I am logged into the EA servers in game and I have tried logging in and out but it does not help.

I know this seems odd but bear with me. I fixed the issue on my own account and I would like to test it on others with the same problem.

Navigate to your My Documents > Bioware > Dragon age 2 > Addins folder.

IF that folder is empty, this fix is unfortunately not for you.

IF there are files there, delete them then choose the repair option for DA2 within the Origin client.

Launch DA2 and attempt to load a save from which you can check to see if the Memento of Legacy is visible.

-You may get an error that says "You cannot load this save without the following content: _________(Name of content)" If so, quit DA2, google that content and re-download the newest version, install back to Addins.

-Then re-load that save and see if the object is appearing as intended.

The content in the addins folder can get corrupted, causing it to conflict with the Legacy DLC.

  • I am having the exact same issue. I have played Legacy & Mark of the Assassin dozens of times with different characters, I just reinstalled DA2 and all the add-ons yesterday and all are working perfectly EXCEPT legacy & MOTA.  I've gone through installation at least four times already for both, and it says they are installed, but they will NOT show up in the game. I'm highly annoyed.

  • I called EA and they had no answers to offer so now I'm just waiting for someone here to know something!

I can see in your case that the advisor asked you to re-install your game. Did you do that? Please let me know if it still does not work for you after re-installation. I'll have our specialists look into it if it still does not work.

I re-installed it onto a different computer but it is still not showing up. I spoke with a rep at EA and he was unable to help me though he was wonderful and tried very hard to do so.

What if there is not even an addins folder there?

  • For some installs, the "Addins" folder will be under your game's program installation folder, not your user profile.

    Like so: C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Dragon Age II\addins

(But the same "Delete -> Repair" approach should work...)

I had a similar issue -- not sure if it's the same one you're having.

I thought all my DLC was verified since the game said I was logged into the Dragon Age servers (and all the other DLC besides MOTA and Legacy were working fine). Turns out I had to manually log in using my EA account at the launch screen to get these two particular DLC verified and to appear in-game. They were otherwise labelled "unauthorized".

FYI, I bought the game and DLCs all through Origin.
