New Patch Can't Load Saved Games After Patch on 3-23-15

I'm not sure why but after I got the update on the 3-23-15 I went to load a saved game and got this:

"this saved game was created with a newer version of the game. Please download the latest patch and try again."

I don't understand why this says this since, again, I just downloaded the latest version.

I also use the mod manager and have changed the main patch file to the merged file after the last update, it worked the night before but am unsure what this does to the latest update.

  • PC vanilla game here with no extra mods loaded.

First time I launched the game past Patch 6 my GPU went all haywire and after 5 minutes of gameplay the game crashed back to the desktop. Currently I am unable to continue gameplay since all savegames end up in a crash back to the desktop.

I changed the package.mft to version 8 since it was already version 7 and it didn't work, now the game wont even start it just stays at the desktop.

I think someone mentioned changing it to "9" instead of 8, and that fixed the issue for them. Worth a shot in any case.

OK changing it to 8 worked when I renamed "Patch" back to "Merged" and repaired the game. Now the game works but the mods aren't available. Don't know if you can help with mod stuff but should I place the merged folder's package.mft file into the patch folder and replace the patch's package folder or is there another way to get them to work? The grey pajamas are an eyesore lol

You likely won't get help with mods, since they are not from EA and therefore, not supported by it.

Didn't think so but it was worth a try. Thanks for the help David!
