Not being taken to first tutorial

Hi

I just downloaded the game on Origin yesterday and have had problems getting started. The game loads fine, I choose my character etc then the video of the Inquisitor seeing woman in the Fade reaching out her hand to me plays. But I don't then exit the Fade and wake up with Cassandra as I'm supposed to. Instead the game loads with me in the Fade and nothing else happening.

Why isn't it loading the next part with me in custoday?

Thanks.

  • No, it is most likely that you applied the 30 frames per second command line modifier to your shortcut. If you start up your game with this added, then after character creation you are stuck in the abyss.

You need to start the game with an unmodified shortcut or directly from origin, create the character, get through the first cutscene and then save. You can quit and restart the game with your modified shortcut after this point. It is a known glitch with using that modification. If you have applied the patch and hotfix, you shouldn't need that modification anymore though.

Yep. try turning down your settings. It sounds like something is failing to load and kicking you to the "start" area -where your character is acting out the opening scene- rather than transitioning to the interrogation. Turning down settings usually helps with this.

    Hi

Thank you for both your replies. The graphics options are all set to low but that didn't solve it.

I have gone directly via the link on Origin rather than my desktop but still stuck in the abyss staring at it in boredom. :womanfrustrated:

    Anything else I can try?

And did you apply the framerate fix within the Origin client? Because that has to removed. This is the only cause of this issue I know of.

Thank you. I tried changing the frame rate again and this time it worked. First time I did have a glass of wine in my hand so may not have followed all the steps properly. Cheers all! :womanhappy:

Since my answer was just a rephrasing of MyMilynn's reply, I unmarked my answer as solution and marked their's instead.

I'm glad you got it working. I hope the framerate issue will get an official fix, because 30fps is a relic of last gen.
