I've also had this problem on my 15" (Late 2013) MacBook Pro Retina. However, I am not running the Intel IGPs; they are disabled and I am using
NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M 2048 MB for all graphics.
Intel i7 2.3

OSX 10.9.4
Macs with the Retina display have a known issue, with a known work around.
Just set the resolution and aspect ratio to something the game can handle: say 1920x1080 (16:9).
