NVIDIA Graphics Driver Issue

So whenever I try and run Dragon Age: Inquisition it tells me I need to update my NVIDIA Graphics Driver to atleast 3.40. I'm currently on the version 9.18.13.3337, and whenever I try to update it further it gives me this error message: The graphics driver could not find compatible graphics hardware. I've tried every solution I can think of including doing a factory reset and still no luck. Any help would be appreciated.

Which Nvidia card are you using? I have a GTX 770 on Win 8.1 64-bit and I'm using driver version 347.09 (dated 12/23/2014).

I am using the GTX 860m on 8.1 64-bit. I purchased this laptop about two weeks ago as well.

Yeah that's where I get it from. I always tried updating it through Geforce Experience and I get the same error

Then something has caused your graphics chip to report an invalid ID when the installer queries it, OR the software was improperly coded to detect that model's hardware ID.  Have you tried a slightly older version of the driver that still falls within the required range?

do a clean install of driver 3.47.

i would recommend just uninstalling NVidia's software using Window's built-in uninstaller. then doing a clean with CCleaner or something similar. then reboot and reinstall 3.47.

used to get these type of problems years ago with early 2000s drivers but nothing like it since. used to have to do dll or registry edits to change the reported driver version.

if you don't specifically use GeForce Experience to setup your games I would totally uninstall and leave it in the trash.

there are known issues with _60 series cards. (460, 560, 760, 860, etc, including Ti, and m...)

these cards are having a pattern of problems with this game, and from

what I have been told by EA tech Support, it is an issue that is being looked into.

I have tested all drivers from 344.65 to the curent 347.09,

and the most stable (for me at least) is 344.65.

The 344.65 is the one that crashed the least, and gave me the most gameplay between crashes.

do a custom, clean, install and DO NOT install audio drivers, 3d drivers or geforce experience.

The issue i'm having is not during it's setup step but before it even begins. When I open the file it starts the system check and gives me the error there.
