Was hoping that this update would fix this.

Really, this was the only thing I was REALLY hoping for. Disappointed.

On a slightly related note, the Assassin's Creed: Unity update solved this (it had the same problem, except it would letterbox lower resolutions than native but behaviour was identical), this is without a driver update from Nvidia so it is definitely possible to patch a game without a new driver.
