[Old Report] Dragon Age Origins Not Connecting to EA Servers

I know this issue has come up before, but for over a month  now, I have been going back and forth with EA Help to get this resolved. Sadly, it hasn't worked. Also, they informed me that Dragon Age Origins is now "retired" and no longer available for purchase. Sad, but those who already have the game will still be able to play it. BUT...they still do not connect to the DA Servers.

It used to connect through the PC, and I was doing that up until 27 September of this year when we had to evacuate due to Hurricane Ian. When we returned a week later, we had no power and no internet. We got power back after 2 weeks, but internet eluded us for another 3 weeks. When we finally got internet back and I launched my game, I got the message "The DA Servers are no longer available". Nothing I did changed that.

Feeling very frustrated, I contacted EA Help to see if they knew what was going on. After all, I could log in to the servers on the PC just over a month before, why are they down now? Alas, they gave me the standard script about how they sympathized and were a fan of the game, too, yada, yada, yada, blah, blah, blah. They have a standard answer that all helpers have written down that they use with great frequency. They gave me the standard "fixes" that I had tried over and over again, and then yet again when they suggested. But nothing worked. I still cannot connect to the DA Servers with Origins. I have no problem with DA 2 and Inquisition; it's just Origins that refuses to connect, now on the PC as well as the consoles.

But, in their last email to me, they sent this:  "I would suggest you to post this on our forums so that this can be checked with the community if other players are also facing the same issue and the game moderators can take a note of it. If there are multiple reports and issue is found the game team will address this." That is a direct quote (emphasis is mine).

So, fellow DA Origins Players, if you are tired of not being able to connect to the EA Servers (especially the console players who have been locked out since July 2018), let's band together. Please reply to this message or post your own if you've had the same problem, and let's let EA know the issue needs to be addressed. I firmly believe the issue lies at their end, and I would like to see them actually get this fixed so we can connect both on the consoles and the PC. For those of you who have DLC, you won't be able to download them through the console if it won't connect. Your created character cannot be uploaded to the keep if the servers won't connect.

I think after 4 years of no connection, it's time EA woke up and enabled one of their best games, don't you? Thanks for listening!

    Hey everyone,

I wanted to shed some light on this as there seem to be a couple of things going on. Just about everyone who logs into the game will get this error.

What @holger1405 stated is correct. This error has zero bearing on saves or content in any way. This error is due to the player's "profile" stats and info being uploaded to the social.bioware.com website that no longer exists.

I have been working with DA for a long time and have verified this error with the games team multiple times. Since the website itself no longer exists, there is nowhere for that data to go so you get an error.

Missing/corrupted saves or DLC issues are entirely separate issues. There are issues after upgrading from Origin to the EA App with saves but not due to this error. If you are entitled to the content you have, as with any other game, and you are signed into the same EA account after launching the game, there should be no issues.

If you do a fresh install and you load up the game for the first time you can make changes that have bypassed that error for some players.

Uncheck upload character data and upload gameplay feedback and manually save this. Again, this may not work for all, but I tested it and it happened to work for myself.
