[Old Report] Dual screen problem

There is very annoying issue with multi monitor setups where game cursor travels to second screen and isn't locked inside the game even in  "Full Screen Mode"

This makes turning camera with right mouse button pain in the **bleep** since time to times cursor travels to second screen and forces game to "flash" out of the full screen mode and returning to windowed mode.

I have tried many alternative software to lock cursor in main screen only but nothing works in game mode odly enough so fix this please and let my character revive from multiple pointless deaths while experiencing this bug.

Thanks I hope someone with native english can try to understand this rant

    Switching to borderless, than back to fullscreen does fix the issue.
    I didn't even have to restart, just apply and it works!

    So, full instruction:

    Options->Display->Windowed borderless->Apply

    Options->Display->Fullscreen->Apply

    Cursor is trapped now and for all future restarts!

  • I have the exact same problem. And this usually happens in the thick of things... when I'm in the middle of a fight.

    Very annoying, to what is otherwise a very enjoyable game.

  • The only workaround I know of is simply to disable output to your second monitor and use only one.  It's a p.i.t.a. to have to do this EVERY single time I want to play the game, but it works.  It seems like locking the cursor to the game window in full screen is a huge oversight to me.  I'm no programmer, but I can't imagine the code would be that difficult to implement.

    Its a shame this still hasnt been fixed.

    I only just got my hands on the game and pretty much immediatly ran to this problem....

    Makes the game unplayable for me.

    So I have since found a better solution for my setup.  If you use an nVidia card and have the NVIDIA Control Panel installed it will work (or always has for me).

    1) Open up NVIDIA Control Panel (in the regular control panel)

    2) 3D Settings -> Manage 3D Settings

    3) Use the dropdown box to select Dragon Age Inquisition

    4) Scroll down to "Multi-display/mixed-GPU acceleration"

    5) Change from "Use Global Setting" to "Single display performance mode"

    6) Click "Apply" button

    I hope that works for you!  If you're using AMD there's likely a similar solution.  Sorry I don't know that one 😕mileysad:

  • I had similar issue, that fixed itself once I changed the option to Borderless fullscreen, restarted the game, and changed it back to fullscreen and restarted game.  I don't know why it made a difference in my game, but after I changed it back to fullscreen, my mouse was trapped ingame while playing.

    what I did to Fix it was

    ctrl+Enter  to change to window mode and then again to change to full screen and that was it

  • I'm feeling your pain... Hopefully this will lessen it.

    [ Note: The icon for Dragon Age Inquisition has the following options disabled! ]

    Right-click on the Origins icon and select Properties.

    Choose the Compatibility tab and then Disable desktop composition.

    This solution, while inelegant, will keep the mouse contained on your main display, and will also "temporarily" turn off your current (non-basic) Windows theme.

    Also, this will affect any other Origin-based games, but since you likely won't be using your desktop anyway... *shrugs*

    Good luck and enjoy!
