1. What Platform are you playing the game on?
PC
2. DxDiag. Lemme know if this is something I can fix from my side plox.
3. What is the the Race/Class/Gender combination of your Inquisitor?
Qunari, male, mage.
4. What followers are you using at the time?
Various, see below.
5. How would you describe your play-style? How are you moving around in areas? For example, are you using the mount? Are you playing a mage and using Blink to move around areas?
I never use mounts, I pressed the Blink button twice accidentally outside of combat but I don't use it to get around and I'm all over the place.
6. Are you engaging in regular combat? (Are you in combat every 30 seconds?) Are you playing in heavy-combat zones where non-player factions are fighting each other?
Regularly but not every thirty seconds, every coupla minutes. And I don't know? Not really? A couple of times I think, one in the Emerald Graves where the giants fight the templars but I ran away and once where some undead where fighting a wisp where I soon killed both.
7. How many hours have you spent in your current playthrough? (the one you are experiencing the banter issues in)
This one is probably 20-40 hours in. But I've experienced the banter bug in every single game I've had except for one. But I accidentally deleted that save. In that save, this was before patch 3, I had banter between the starting team which I cleared the Hinterlands, the Storm Coast, that desert place with the door and the swamp with every 15-30 minutes. It was beautiful. Pretty sure they close to exhausting their banter and I was so okay with that.
8. Where do you expect banter to be firing?
Everywhere except quest specific areas.

Notes and such:
- This was an old save that I don't play anymore.
- All three those places were first visits this playthrough.
- I tried using teams I don't usually use and I KNOW none of them have exhausted their banter.
- I tried to note every semi-important thing I did.
- I DID note every single thing my companions said (except their combat lines but I'm not doing that) so if I didn't mention anything they didn't say anything. I can even give the specific two banters if it's important.
- I can't say with any surety whether post patch 3 made banter worse than it was previously for me but it most definitely did not IMPROVE it.
- This was reeeeaaaalllllyyyy annoying.
EDIT:
Also I play in windowed fullscreen mode and did this live by alt-tabbing a lot, that may or may not be important.
Having played for some hours again this appears to have resolved itself for me - no idea what caused it to correct itself but it was still not working in the hinterlands and i went to another area to sort out my specialisation items and it worked fine there and also on returning to the hinterlands, so fingers craossed as someone suggested it might simply be taking it's time to load the new banter settings

I was about to come here and update my story as well.
I idled 10 hours yesterday in Hinterlands in the main camp silent spot with my mage as I was working on the other computer simultaniously. I got absolutely nothing (not even landscape commentary) until 23:14
Then the heavens opened and wonderful apocalyptic inquisition started
I got banter alright from then on and almost bang on time :
23:14 sera and cassandra
23:24 sera and cassandra again
23:39 sera commenting on the landscape
23:49 dorian and cassandra
00:00 varric making a landscape commentary
then i paused the game for a bit while having my dinner so there is natural gap here:
01:55 blackwall commenting on landscape
02:06 varric commenting on landscape
02:18 dorian and blackwall and interractive bickering
02:33 dorian and blackwalla again
02:48 blackwall and varric
this was delightful! This is where I ended my experiment certain that this character is wonderful to play again and will get back at itEdit:
however the joy was short lived as the improvement did not carry out to actual playing as banter is non-existent (1 in 6 hours)
- So in conclusion. Day after my long moan the game stabilized in terms (took until last night from the download day) of idle banter. Sounds are still a bit out there, but it may be an entirely separate issue and deserves no further commentary here.
What can be noted is that as someone already suggested in Bioware forums was that landscape commentary is part of banter frequency. In fact I have now heard commentary I have not heard before so something has shifted and makes the replay more refreshing too. Lovely lovely and lovely. Thank you- the increase is great thing and does have a very positive impact on the play. I hope this persists while actually playing instead of idling.
Unfortunately the issue is very much present when actually playing the game. But at least I hear it when I stay idle- it is a small victory, but questing does become abundantly more boring with this unfomfortable silence- that was not there when I was playing my warrior pre-patch.
