I did notice 1 thing, :
First of all i had no crashes that were not my own doing. (Alt tabbing/running movies/websites/running other programs while playing DAI).
Sys specs :
i7 4770K
32GB ram
250GB SSD OS
64GB SSD DAI (testing purposes)
3 x 2TB WD (DAI installed on 1 of em)
Windows 7 x64 Ultimate
2 x 290x running on Mantle (latest Omega drivers) - Fullscreen uses crossfire, windowed mode running on a single card.
Maximum settings. (Ultra/fade touched/HBAO full/4 x MSAA)
When i was transferring some files from the HDD i got DAI installed on to another drive the game got laggy as hell, no interactions/conversations/sound went bonkers. It feels like the game requires a lot of 'disk use' to run. I had to click the NPC 10 or so times and nothing happened it was as if the game paused with me able to run around but not interact (like lagging out in a MMO) Once the copying was finished the game went into a 'fast forward mode' skipping the entire conversation.
I tested this and DAI runs much smoother from a SSD (used a cheap 64GB SSD just for DAI) Also loading times were lots faster, it loaded in the world much faster and i didn't encounter the 'Skyhold missing npc's' bug'.
I can easely tell the difference when running from HDD, when i enter the tavern in Skyhold the game 'hangs' and you see Krem 'appearing' and other NPC's in the tavern. When running from HDD i had the 'Skyhold NPC's gone' bug several times, fast travel to val royaux and back and it's solved.
However on a friends system he's got an identical system except he has 1 780TI and 16GB ram, he's getting DX errors and such, random CTD's and other issues.
Seeing where most problems occur:
-Nvidia cards/drivers? (My friend tried several - even did a complete reinstall)
-Older series AMD cards, 7950/70 - 280/x (6990/7990).
-DAI installed on OS drive causing more 'unable to load NPC' bugs.
- I did not encounter the stuttering/hang issue some people encounter, but that could be related to 'drive use' since i do notice this in Skyhold tavern when running from HDD.
I am getting a GTX980 soon to build a different system so i will test it on that to see if i can reproduce errors/CTD's.
