Dear Bioware,
I was getting close to the end of my playthrough. I was just about to take on the final battle with
I have spent alot of time chasing down all the odds and ends, helping my companions, making sets of armor, even knocked heads with
a few dragons. It has been good fun.
I have a PC I purchased 2 years ago and I was not only relieved but surprised on how amazingly well the game looked and
ran on my system.
i5 chipset
GTX 670 2GB
8GB RAM
Sure the game has odd animation glitches, sometimes froze on start-up, occasional voice dropout. but these things were forgivable because
the 99% of the other parts were amazing. I really loved that you put ridable yaks in as mounts. Even with 4 characters onscreen, the gameplay was solid and the framerate didn`t flinch.
I saw the release notes for patch 2 and thought it couldn`t hurt. The map markings for the locator search could be handy. And why not? Patches make games better, don`t they?
Really wish that I hadn`t.
Nothing works anymore. It wasn`t broken before, but now I cannot even play your game.
This is not a game now. Its a slide-show. The lag is soo bad, the buttons sometimes don`t respond to input for over 10 seconds.
I cannot even confirm whether or not my inquisitor`s scars have disappeared or not because the lag and framerate is soo bad.
I`ve downloaded new drivers.... No effect. I`ve tried the command line workaround... no effect.
I know you will fix this, but when? It wasn`t broken to start with... I find it difficult to believe that a game company that (hell, by comparison to others released this year) was comparatively smooth and unbuggy, would make a patch that is fundamentally broken. Its disappointing to realise how little you clearly value your customers time. Game of the Year, maybe. But does Bioware win new longterm customers by getting them to beta-test your patches for free?
I know you are a company and companies need to make money. Sure, it might be only 5-10% of PC users who are affected in the way that I am.
So allow me to respond in a way you may understand. I cannot believe that you would release this patch (which we are unable to manually remove of refuse) without knowing how users would be affected. So you`ve obviously calculated that the backlash whilst vocal wouldn`t affect enough players to actually warrant spending the time and money to test it. It was probably useful, huh? Make sure those bugs didn`t make it into the Xbox One release?
But can you as a company afford to lose 5-10% of your business income? This is a product I paid 6000 yen for.
And its not good enough. That simple. I am not your Beta Tester and I don`t want to be. Until you can prove this is not the way your company will do business in the future you will not receive my money for future titles.
Good luck and Kind Regards,
Long-time but disappointed Bioware Customer
