I reckon they're working on it.

Let's hope they are. I'm not keen on waiting another three or four weeks for the possible hotfix.

I'm going to throw my name in the hat of people experiencing worse performance after the patch.

This is absolutely unplayable in the state that it's currently in.

Adding my voice to the patch being worse.

I am running DAI on the PC, Windows 8.1, Sapphire Radeon 5870 1 gig video card with the latest drivers.

Windows 8.1 with all DirectX updates

Intel i970 cpu

6 gig RAM

When I first got the game, I would get DirectX errors every once in a while (maybe twice over 1 hour of game play).

Got patch 2 and launched the game and BOOM!  DirectX error without even doing anything.  Restarted and tried again.  Am now getting Direct X crashes constantly (say every minute or so).  These errors, for me at least, seem to be much worse than before.  I used to be able to click the DirectX message box and the game would close along with it.

Now, I have to access my Tasks Manager and shut down the game's process before I can attempt to launch again.

I have the game on the lowest settings, it looks aweful and am still crashing.  

Same here, along with pop-ins and white fog that i can't see through wherever mist is supposed to be ie. dungeons, swamps ect.

I hate this.. Now  my characters run in slow mo almost like a strob light effect :womanfrustrated:  Fighting the boss in the Abyss quest was just insane last night.. and whats with the dang shiney hair. This patch is a mess. 😕mileysad:

I launched the game today after patching.  I was getting hitching on the main menu but just shrugged it off.  Took 13 minutes to load my game, and as soon as I got in, I started getting lock-ups lasting between 15 - 30 seconds (timed it with a stopwatch) in frequencies of more than once a minute.  It took me 45 minutes to fast travel back to Skyhold and set up one mission on the war table before I gave up.

I was having minor FPS problems and the occasional stutter pre-patch, but now the game is completely unplayable.

i5-3470 3.20GHz

16GB RAM

nVidia GTX 480 1GB

Windows 7

Absolutely loved this game , now its just annoying since the patch , game lagging takes the fun out of it , making it unplayable. Just wish we had the option to remove the patch !!!!

This game had its performance issues before the patch, but i had found a nice comfrotable spot with settings on "High" with Textures set to Ultra, MSAA Off, Tesselation Off, Post Process Medium, Shadows Medium, SSAO.

Got 60 FPS except in Skyhold or other cities/villages/camps/keeps. I could handle that. The game was fine for me at least.

Now the game stutters every 5 minutes, whether I'm in a cutscene or battle or roaming around. Its a jittery, graphic interrupting stutter that just wasnt there before. The audio distorts sometimes when this happens as well. I have 70 hours played, I would have noticed! Its not game-breaking for myself but it is quite... bad.

I've done the usual, checked for background processes, not using any Overlays even for FPS measures, Anti-Virus disabled while playing. But now that I've found this thread, it appears it is NOT my system (phew!)

Anyway, to business. There has been an announcement from EA that they're going to release a hotfix later on today. Unfortunately that only seems to address the graphics issues other users are having, and the shiny hair syndrome that's going on. If this can fix the fps issue (stuttering/glitching) that we're having here I have no idea, but as of right now my game is completely unplayable, and I'm not even talking about the graphics.

This is what I've tried:

The GFX workaround that the mods have posted, which changes to the Ultra setting. Did nothing for me.

A system restore to pre-patch, turned Origin offline. Same story.

Launched game through Nvidia GEForce Exp (as per a recommendation from a Reddit user). This actually improved things a LITTLE, accompanied that by changing all my settings from High/Ultra back down to Medium and turned off Ambient Noise. A slight improvement in that I can now move around for about ten seconds before it freezes for five. I still have major issues with the main menu, conversations and general gameplay.

My game was working perfectly and playing beautifully up until the point of the latest patch. It is now well and truly broken. If we could get an EA mod in here to even acknowledge that this is an issue that they're looking into, I'd be happy.
