@Elizabeth_QC @HouseOfCrows I believe in this instance, the scars are handled by the shader setting, not the texture setting. I think it used to be textures when the game was just released, but they released a patch at some point that added a shader setting, and that's where scars are handled now.
The shader setting has to be at least 'high'.
Hey, wanted to update that I was finally able to get around to changing my shader settings to high and going to the Black Emporium to try to add my Inquisitor's scar and it worked (mostly) like a charm.
I originally had everything set to low except the textures setting (which was set to medium automatically by the game when it detected my computer's specs). When I changed the shader setting to high I left the texture where it was, just to see how it looked, and it ended up doing what I wanted (which is to say that the scars show up in the character creator and on my Quizzie's face now). But depending on the different lighting situations the shading/shadows/etc. had gone kinda wonky.
So I decided to turn my texture setting down to low and keep my shader setting at high. Some things are still slightly wonky, but it's not nearly as bad as it was so my game's looking pretty good, running as smoothly as before, and the scars are showing up now. Again, thank you so much for letting me know about that! I had mostly resigned myself to just not having scars on my Quizzies until I was able to get a new laptop (which isn't likely to happen anytime soon). So yeah, seriously, that was a huge help! 🙂
