It's really interesting.... I couldn't play the game without dropping everything to low and turning off anti-aliasing before the patch. Then the AMD drivers came out, and the game got the patch.... and I could play with everything on Ultra maxed out except for multi-sample anti-aliasing. Then one day it seemed as though all my graphics settings got randomly set back to defaults, and now my game crashes again. I don't get it....

I actually noticed that since the graphics settings got reset to default, I forgot to change it to Windowed Fullscreen instead of Fullscreen. I just changed it to Windowed Fullscreen and I can max out everyting again with drastically improved stability. However, still cant use multi-sample anti-aliasing....... ☹️

Sorry it took so long to update you on this, but I think it have an aswer, maybe not a solution but an answer, none-the-less.
when you install new drivers any previous profiles are removed.
and the game is designed to go by your main monitor's native resolution and refresh rate.
And I am guessing the patch and/or hotfix also reset any profiles to default.
but now that you have patched the game, manually resetting to your preferences
should do the trick. However, the patch and hot fix have given many, many, people
even more performance issues with the game, so at best it is hit or miss.
For now just try to find the "sweet spot" that is best for your system.
