[PC] Ongoing investigation - poor performance, crashes, resource allocation.

I have the discs so i did a re-install which fixed my stuttering issues. My question is, is there no way to play in online mode so i can import my choices from the Keep? Thus far, i've not seen a way to play with my disc install and being online because Origins is trying to force me to download the patches.  Is it possible to get Origins to stop trying to force me to download the patches so i can play while connected to the servers?
