The mesh setting needs to be set to high, or you get shiny hair. It took me a while to figure it out too. It really makes the beards look odd.
Yes I know but it's not a solution on my rig as the fps drop under 30 when I am setting the meshes to High.

What is your system specs? Also are you playing it in Origin or standalone?
