I take it that this is a general question, and not Dragon Age specific? To answer your question, it depends on the game. Dragon Age: Inquisition supports Xbox 360 and Xbox One pads, and some would say it plays better with a pad.

You can check the Origin store page, the requirements page should indicate whether pad support is present or not. A soft rule is that if the game is available on console too, it'll have pad support, but this isn't 100% correct all the time. For example Mass Effect 3 PC has no native pad support.
