I recall Battlefield 4 has the option to be played in 32 or 64 bit. Dragon Age 3 revealed the spec requirements too late, and just as many others I don't use the 64 bit sys neither. I request a 32 bit version be added, otherwise this may sadly mean I won't be able to continue following the DA franchise anymore. i don't mind if this means a drop in texture/whatever quality.

  • I agree, I'm disgusted you can pre-order a game, take our money without telling us your game won't be compatible on a system that virtually 99% of the market is. I've not come across a game that I can't play, thus if you're the first stepping away from 32 bit you should have informed us prior to accepting money and making a contract. As I've bought this game fully expecting it to be playable, can you inform me when will the 32bit version be released and what compensation are you providing for delay?

EA always goes through phases of being good then causing rubbish for years. Stick to being a market leader not a short term financial gain company.

The system requirements are very clear. Even if you bought the game before the announcement (which is always a bad idea), Origin has a refund policy. This comes literally from the official website:

    "OS: Windows 7 or 8.1 64-bit"

    And also this:

    "System RAM: 4GB"

32-bit operating systems only support up to 3.25 GB of RAM, which is why 64-bit is required.

According to the Steam Hardware Survey, the vast majority of gamers (78.31% if I calculated correctly) use a 64-bit operating system, so I don't get where you get your "99% uses 32-bit" statistic.

I really sometimes get taken a back by some of the stuff people write on forums. I cant get my head around where you pulled the fiqures from that 99% of the population still use 32bit OS? Now if your computer is capable of using a x64 OS and it should be if you even expect DA:I to load (4/8GB/x64 capable CPU) then why have you not upgraded? I know that if you bought windows then you can upgrade for free, you just download the x64 bit ISO from MS. If not then you really need to consider buying a x64 capable OS because x32 bit is like next to useless for todays next gen gaming.

Yes, that is what it means.

NO, there will NOT be any 32 bit version, sorry about that.

I DONT RLLY GET WHY U ARE BEING A * BTW!

while all this guy is trying to say is that its kinda anoying to pay for a game you cant play. now the only question was if its going to be playable in 32 bit, you couldve just said no.

and if 77% uses 64 bit it would mean that 23% of gamers wont get to play this game. now thats just bad marketing if u ask me.

Why resurrect such an old thread just to say that, @foreser1?
Inquisition requires a 64 bit system as a 32 bit system is incapable of even supporting the amount of RAM needed to run the game at minimum system requirements (4GB). The system requirements were available long before the game came out, I preordered 5+ months before release and knew what was going to be required, so people making complaints like this just show an unwillingness to take responsibility for their own failure to inform themselves before purchasing.
If someone meets the minimum system requirements, they should be able to change their installation of Windows to 64 bit for free (I did). Many newer games require a 64 bit installation anyway, so it's not unreasonable.
It's not bad marketing to make a high quality game with reasonable system requirements. Gamers expect new AAA games to be high quality and graphically impressive, things which require higher system specs. I also suspect those numbers would have changed by now, since many newer games require a 64 bit OS.

Considering that 32 bit is obsolete, it's a wonder it even runs on older gen consoles at all. I would estimate that at least 50% of gamers are now on at least their second if not third or fourth 64 bit machine and, that that 77% is a bit outdated and is pushing 90% now.

It's simple, the majority want high quality games, especially when it comes to the graphics and, we want decent FPS with the quality. To do that, games need to use more RAM, faster CPUs and, better graphics cards and, to support that a computer needs to be a 64 bit machine.

I know money may be an issue for some but, honestly it's been a good five years since we began moving to 64 bit, I think that in that time most could have managed to come up with 500 USD or so for a decent 64 bit rig. I don't expect everyone to go buy the 2 grand plus monster rigs (or build them) but is a mid line, current computer too much for Origin Games to ask? I don't think so.
