Came across this bug just before. Seemed to be related to having a full inventory and receiving the two items from the fallen boss. Loaded an earlier save and destroyed a couple of items, killed the boss again and watched the cutscenes. Fixed the issue 🙂

Man -- I got so excited when I read this post. I've tried everything previously suggested but I hadn't thought about my inventory. I had 57/60, and destroyed a few items to bring it down to 54/60. Played it again in windowed mode. Still not working. This blows.
