Dragon Age Inquisition on Steam and EA App

I have DAI on steam. Every time the EA App updates, I usually have to uninstall and reinstall the app and relink it to my steam account for the game to boot. 

I have tried this after the recent update that had a new user agreement, but the game won’t boot at all. When I click ‘play’ it launches the EA app to try and boot it but then just crashes - the game doesn’t even show up on my taskbar. 

I am assuming this is because the update messed with the “handshake” between the EA app and Steam. I cannot play my game at all.
