Hi everyone, i know this may sound a bit silly but i have a question about the ending of the game. My bf has recently bought the game and is really excited to play it! However he has quite bad oc...
If you are talking about the full ending, then the closest thing to someone turning bad is not Cassandra but Solas. Solas is set up as the protagonist for the next game.
Cassandra can become one of several different things depending on your choices, but none of them would I consider bad or against the Inquisitor. She can be romanced, made the new Divine, and or train up a new Seeker order. I think there may be a few more differences available but these are the ones I know about.
See spoiler tag if you want to know or simply read the Wiki: http://dragonage.wikia.com/wiki/Cassandra_Pentaghast
As far as the game goes....lol, you can spoil some of the ending, but there is still a bunch to roll play and find out even if you read about it, there is lots to do to make a fun play. So many things can vary depending on how you play and how your character acts to different people, tell him to just get into the game and become his character while playing and it will all work out.
@kms272; Cassandra is a full "Companion". She can join the Party and travel/fight with the Inquisitor. Leliana and Josephine are "Advisors" and, except for brief scenes during their respective PQs, they never leave the base (Haven/Skyhold).
The Inquisitor can select Leliana or Cassandra (or another we haven't even discussed) for a particular "post-game" role. The implications of that choice are... unclear (DA4?) I guess this is what people are talking about when they like/dislike the ending. But it was their choice, so what's their issue? Whichever is selected behaves exactly as all her previous behaviour would lead one to expect.
That said, Josie is a potential Love_Interest and can be romanced by the Inquisitor. Leli, on the other hand, remains the Ice Maiden. (I guess she still carries a torch for the Warden... 🤔 )
[EDIT: Oh yeah, for the sticklers out there: there is one other time Leliana fights. But that is in an "alternate" location. And she still isn't a "Companion". 😉 ]

I think people may dislike that it's not entirely the player's choice. The actions of the Inquisitor throughout the game affect which variation of that ending you'll receive. The player may not even be aware of those. 🙂
OMG! Decisions made (by the player) throughout the game actually influencing the final results?!?
We need to put a stop to that right now. 🤭
