Re: Dragon Age Double Vision

Just so you know, you may have an Nvidea card/chip, but it isn't what is trying to play the game by the error message you posted.

Well, for some reason, I used to get two error messages but somehow got one of them to not come back so I'll just send the one that hasn't disappeared:

DirectX function "GetDeviceRemovedReason" failed with DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG ("The application's device failed due to badly formed commands sent by the application. This is a design-time issue that should be investigated and fixed. ").      GPU: "Intel(R) HD Graphics Family",      Driver:8.15.0010.2418 6/10/2011 14:16:04

So if you can find in your control panel how to MAKE the game run on the nvidea chip/card if you have it, then you have a small chance.  If not, then you pretty much are out of luck until you upgrade your computer, or Intel comes out with a driver designed to specifically get it to work.....

HOW TO I UPLOAD A SCREENSHOT? I think this is the one in a million moment where the game starts up but I'm actually getting the "Double Vision" part of this whole conversation!

Use a third part image host, like http://imgur.com

Screenshots can be taken in-game with the Print Screen button and are stored in Documents > BioWare > Dragon Age: Inquisition > Screenshots

The picture wasn't able to catch the double vision of the characters, but it did catch how the title screen buttons aren't visible.

I would say most likely the issue is the game is trying to run through your Intel graphics chip and it isn't designed to do so.  Yeah, the game will have odd effects when this happens.  Upgrade to a true Nvidea or AMD graphics card and you will probably be able to play the game.  I say probably because even some of those do have issues(usually Nvidea with this game), but at least they can usually be worked around or have a chance of having a patch fix an issue, whereas your Intel isn't supported by the game and will almost ALWAYS have issues, unless Intel comes out with a driver specifically for this game.

And before you say you have the Nvidea already, by the original post you listed the fault code, it says plain as day in there, INTEL graphics....not Nvidea.
