OK, I have found the problem. In order for the Logitech Profiler software to recognize the gamepad, the switch on the bottom of the gamepad must be in the "D" position for DirectInput.
In order for the GamePad to work with the game, the switch must be in the "X" position for xInput.
Now that the game works with the GamePad again I guess I need to go knock on Logitech's door and find out why the profiler will only work in the mode that doesn't allow it to work with the game!
