I have had this same problem! I press play, Origin disappears, and then nothing happens. I just recently bought the game because of the Origin sale and haven't even been able to play the game once! Very frustrated.

Most common cause of this is AVG or Avast anti-virus. Even if it "was working fine", any updates to the av program, the game, or even Windows itself can make it fail again.
