Don't know what else you may also have, but that report crash and several others were all Avast related.
Avast is now uninstalled and avastclear has been used. This aswhook.ddl is still appearing on the dxdiag.
This is a laptop, so next step is to make sure your machine is using the 950m video card and NOT the intel HD graphics. If the machine uses the Intel, it will likely crash or not run, so you should be able to go into Nvidia graphics control panel, and make sure that the Nvidia is the only thing being used with the game.
Aswhook showing up in DXDiag file could simply be that the logs haven't reset, or been cleared and you are reading the older crashes. You may also try a clean boot and see if the game starts, as there are several programs that can along with AVG/AVAST cause this issue.
Currently having trouble doing a clean reboot go to apply the disabling of features and the laptop stops responding. Then I lost Internet connection and got stuck on flight mode. Going to do a full reset as other issues have come up.
What antivurus do you people which is compatable with DAI?
Will get back to you once my laptop is up and running again. This game is worth the work (have it on PS4) and I look forward to using some mods on it.
Got it working. Thanks for the advice. Complete laptop reset got rid of the interfering files.
Mods seem to work okay, got the hair I like, but I am only on the intro part, we'll have to see if others work further on.
Some mods not working, but only minor ones like black nails. I'm more interested in appearance and companion mods, and connecting to Dragon Age Keep to play with different outcomes of previous games; for some reason, it never connected with my PS4.
Just need to get used the the keyboard controls.
