Sounds like something corrupted the save files, an event that occured during or just after the fight. Probably due to the bug of still being in combat, but can't be sure. Unlikely anything can be done about the files that have the bug, so they are probably a lost cause.

I did some research and it seems that nothing can be done about it indeed. I tried fighting the dragon again twice after that but I failed both times, classic. If anyone's interested, I settled fot Crestwood dragon instead and it's easier, took it down on the first try. A really annoying bug, to be honest. Anyway, thanks for help.
