people with 980 can have those crashes, it have absolutely nothing to do with what you just said
Well, apparently, although I'm running a single GTX 970 and 8 GB of RAM, I have not installed Patch 2 (and never will) and do not have crash issues. My CPU is an i7-4790k and not overclocked. So I guess that the constant crashes are happening with Patch 2. But I'm still in belief that my CPU is the culprit for the game's high stability. I cannot be positively sure, though.
This same dx error happens in other frostbite engine games like bf4, nfs:rivals and the run. Also majority of people have patch 2 installed and most of them don't crash. Cpu is irrelevant when it comes to this dx error as long as it's in recommended specs you're good. It's all about gpu, easiest way to check it for someone who is crashing all the time would be borrowing gpu from friend who completed this game and never crashed.
I'd say it's good game to test newly purchased gpu's, they can be stable in everything else but not here.
