Re: Need to re-purchase the Deluxe Edition Upgrade on Xbox One?

New platform, a new copy of the game is required.

This has been true for all versions of the Dragon Age (and ME) series.

The thing is, I already bought physical copies of both the 360 and the One versions of the base game.  In December, I bought the Deluxe Edition Upgrade pack (a purchasable add-on) from the Xbox store for my 360.  Since I didn't have a physical copy of the 360 deluxe edition, I didn't get a code, and so I shelled out an extra $10 for the deluxe content.  I then bought a One in April, and bought the One version of DA:I two weeks ago.

From what I understand, anybody who had a physical copy of the deluxe edition for the 360 can now buy a regular (non-deluxe) copy of the game on the One, then use their 360 deluxe edition codes to add that content to their new consoles.  If that's the case, then why am I being asked to re-purchase the deluxe edition content that *I* already paid for when I bought the $10 Deluxe Edition Upgrade pack on my 360?  It doesn't seem fair giving one group the extra content for free when they upgrade their consoles, and then ask another group to pay twice for the exact same in-game items.  Both groups still had to buy two versions of the base game, just like I've already done.

It seems strange treating the Deluxe Edition Upgrade pack differently than every other digital add-on that you can buy for DA:I.  Why charge twice for this one particular item when everything else (except for the base game) is free if you previously purchased it?

I've been wondering the same thing. Last year I purchased the Deluxe edition version of the game for xbox 360, and today I got the normal version of the game for xbox one. I had thought I could "import" deluxe edition to xbox one, but no. I even tried to write the code again, but I got the message that said it had already been used. Is it really so that you can only re-download the Jaws of Hakkon and Spoils of Avvar for free, but not the Deluxe Edition?

Crossover provisions are limited, and becoming even moreso.  The old platforms are already not being supported at all for the latest of games.
