This is just a player to player forum. If you want something more official you will have to contact EA directly. You can find links for that here:

Unfortunately we are just guessing, we don't have access to what is going on behind the scenes.

Looks like the problem is an Origin problem.  I wish I could update the game a different way.

Yes, Safe mode download seems to work. I'm getting about 2.4mb/sec

Thanks.  This helped make mine go from 10-50 kbps and crashing out after 100 MB or so, to getting over 8 MBPS and almost done in a minute or two.
