thank you for helping an old man out . sry for being dumb but can a video chip be replaced or is it easier to boot laptop out the window and then get a second mortgage to get decent lappy xD

While laptops have a convenience factor, environmentally, they are a disaster. It doesn't really mean you must devote a great deal of space to a large server-size tower to bring a stationary PC system home. There are some "too small" ones, of course, but a mini-tower, several versions, or else what is called a "mid-tower", can often be used as a basis for an inexpensive fixed location machine with game playing internal hardware.
Both economically and environmentally, a "desktop" saves you and the planet greatly over the cost of constantly discarding laptops. The reason laptops are so bad, besides the awful keyboards, is they do not allow CPU or GPU upgrades, shortening their useful lives. Recycled, the laptop's rare earth minerals and valuable metals are too difficult to reclaim economically, unlike the case for desktops.
