If it was a mmo or a other online game more gameinfo sites would be write news about bugs etc. They dont earn money if they would work on a patch, we already paid for the game. All work now in this game is a loss for them. But that is just my opinion.

well I still care about it. about 90 hours in my first character on the save and maybe about halfway through the game, haven't even netered 3 or 4 of the high level zones or saved the empress yet sheesh. and they'll work on it, it was just unfortunate timing releasing a broken patch too close to 2 stupid big holidays back to back. it'll be pushing the end of january by the time we gett his fixed because of the timing. there should truly be a rollback function for these kinds of patches. reminds me of skyrim and why it took me a year to play it even, just to realize it couldn't stand beside morrowind or oblivion lol. (modded anyways). skyrim was effectively broken ( though not as bad when it came to crashing besides the bethesda crashes people were used to by then) for months I heard at a point due to a couple of broken patches during a point int ime. pc anyways. I heard console also had it's fair share of issues including bloated saves becoming corrupted. unfortunately crashes and leaks due to misallocation don't really help you soldier on past bugs. none of which I encountered yet, bugs, just these darn crashes with the darn patch. reinstalls just waste your time even disabling all update options, it installs and also repairs to the patch point unfortunately.

I can guarantee they wont allow rollback because 1, it would bork everyones saves that have played since patch 2 and 2, because everyone needs exactly the same version for multiplayer and would probably invalidate their multiplayer characters. Best we can hope for is a patch to fix the bad patch then another fix to fix the patch that was supposed to fix the bad patch! Typical EA!

No. What is unfortunate is getting a game realsed in this condition to begin with.
It was rushed into release strictly for profit's sake. The game may have been tested,
but not tested well enough, obviously.
Games used to work right out of the box (off the disk). I literally have hundreds of
retail purchased games ranging from 1985 to present. And Everything that came out
prior to 2010 I have absolutely never had any issues with. But since then, and the option of
"the cloud," and online updates, companies are releasing unfinsihed, broken games, that are
at best, still in beta. They sell it at full price and expect the gaming community to just suck
it up and deal with it.
The "Sell it now, patch it later" ... "Profits before People" mentality is just unforgivable.
The PR lies about what you can expect from a game, branding it as a "PC game, By PC gamers for PC gamers,"
When it is so blatently obvious it is a port from console. That too is just unforgivable.
Another unforgivable sin, is the lack of information or communication from the developement studio.
Not all this vague, "We're working on it" with no details until the day before a patch and hotfix are
released, which inevitably, for many players, made this game worse if not unplayable all together.

I wholeheartedly agree! I received this game for Christmas and have not even been able to start the game. I've tried everything on this forum and the game still won't start. I don't think I'll be able to take the game back as it is now an open package.

I really feel sorry for the people who got this mess for Xmas, im sorry for you all. If its an conciliation, it worked perfect prepatch 2 so hopefully soon they will patch it and you all should be able to enjoy the game. Sorry again all you new comers but this is the state of games development these days and EA are the kings of releasing bug ridden games!
MERRY XMAS all by the way and have a great new year.

well I'd say Ubi was the king of that this year.
people having cpu heat or usage issues should try to play with vsync forced disabled, and use a fps cap command to compensate. it will help some people, especially if you use mantle on an amd card. the game is using the cpu too heavily, more than needed. also the hinterlands will be a zone you won't be able to stay in for long without a ctd because of the rendering distance issues like someone mentioned sometimes trees being a reasonable range other times them being drawn up to mount olympus. making zeus himself tremble in fear of the incoming ctd. capping at fps 30 for me seemed to cause more frequent crashes, at60 I could go about an hour or 2 so long as I wasn't in hinterlands. for the people who recently got or began playing the game, I feel bad for you since hinterlands and red cliffe are must go zones at the very beginning of the game. and the areas that cause ctd far sooner than the other zones I've been to. I plan to play the game very little until there is a fix for this. since I don't plan to download 26 gigs again just to realise it once again updated the game on the install even with all update options unchecked. I'll reinstall skyrim and try out perkus maximus and sands of time mods till then when I get bored with dungeon defenders 2 and deathtrap.
I agree. I've played every BW game from Baldur's Gate onwards. When they were a small company in Edmonton, they produced top notch games that had relatively no issues and when they did, BW fixed it.
It seems that ever since BW merged with EA, their products became less reliable, more problematic etc.
So yes, profit over performance sucks.
BW please leave EA, get back to your home roots and produce those top notch games again please.
