Re: PC shuts down while playing

Most of the time, if the PC is actually shutting down or going to Blue Screen, then that means your computer is overheating.

This could be from Overperformance (in other words, your machine is inefficient) or there could be alot of dust built up in your PC's fans. I recommend you clean your fans if you haven't already.

I  have cleaned them last week when i got my hands on new graphic card gtx 970 .

Other then that i got new computer case so dust cant be the problem here.

  • Are you running a dual or quad core processor? And what specifically is your CPU spec?

Maybe your power supply is not enough to feed all system at full performance.

So it start to do wrong calculations, so windows shut down.

Check if it is not hitting a lot, or if the power supply is enough to feed the new video board.

    i5-2500 3.3ghz its quad.

  • Strange. I don't see how it could be CPU related then. Ultimately it has to be power supply.

Mine was doing the same thing, only it was repeatedly crashing out of the main menu and powering off.

I decided I'd take a chance and actually start the game, and it hasn't crashed in about 4 hours of playtime.

I noticed - along with a few people on the Bioware boards - that CPU usage during loading screens and the main menu is absurdly high. CPU usage drops down to more 'normal' levels when actually playing the game. I'm talking approximately 100% CPU usage on loading screens and a steady 70% while just sitting on the main menu and not doing anything else.

Again, actually playing the game now and it hasn't crashed, but something is taxing the hell out of my CPU in the menus. I have an AMD FX 6300/Vishera, not overclocked.
