Re: (PC) Unable to load save data - missing DLC

It has been three weeks since people started reporting DLC authentication issues in DA-I with no apparent progress on resolving this issue. I have personally contacted EA three times now over this and re-downloaded the 35+gb of game data at least five times. Can I have an assurance by EA representatives that this issue is being taken seriously?

    Hi.

You may want to run both Steam and Origin (Both logged in) before playing.

You also should log in through the "Account" tab on Dragon Age Inquisition before loading up a save.

This will allow your game to successfully reach the EA servers to allow the DLCs to be read. Unfortunately, there is no workaround towards this as this is part of the 3rd Party DRM feature flaired in Red on the Steam page.

    Hope this helps~

I for one, didn't have a lot of problems playing~

  • I'm glad the game works for you DainJr, but a substantial number of players are locked out of their purchased content right now - myself included. Just FYI, I have done everything you personally outlined; including tried wiping the Origin caches, hunting every single file on the hard drive, re-downloading the game (5 times), repairing the files in Origin, checking the integrity in Steam, performing networking diagnostics, contacting EA literally five times etc. The fault appears to be with Origin and how it authenticates the DLC.

And nothing is being done, apparently.

Hey, EA. Just a reminder that I've been locked out of the expensive game I bought from you for well over a month now. Are you actually doing anything to solve this?

    @mrdeathprime

I would suggest going over to EAHelp.com and starting up a chat with an official EA help rep.  This should do two things, one is to bring the issue to their attention and the second they are the only ones who can do anything with accounts.

What about here you ask??  Well, this is a player to player help forum with a few community mods, and we can't do anything with accounts and don't have access to all their info of official help.

@mrdeathprime Also, can I check if you had played DAI via an EA Play membership in the past?

If you can go to Properties for the game in Steam I'd be interested in the App ID and Build ID, they'll be listed in the Updates tab.

  • @EA_David In the same boat of having missing dlcs despite owning the GOTY edition on steam 'supposedly' with all the dlcs. Originally played through the steam EA Play membership and wanted to buy a full copy of game during the sale on steam (big woops) turns out steam version and origin version are very different and now it won't accept the dlcs I've reinstalled twice.
    1) never played with mods
    2) already removed ea play copy from steam account
    3) repaired the game twice on origin and steam
    4) unticked and ticked those dlc boxes
    5) reinstalled my steam copy twice now
If you were wondering dave my App ID is 1222690 and Build ID is 0 (doesn't sound right but it is). I have read cases where ea support have had to add the game to other people's origin accounts as well as adding the correct steam version to their account which solved their product key issue.

@Chip3ArtKing Thanks for the post, the Build ID is interesting.

If you log into Origin, then open the game panel for the Steam version of the game, can you check the extra content tab to see if the DLC is is downloadable there?

If you're willing to install the EA Desktop app, some folks have said this let them install a working version.

One other thing, if you choose to start a new game, do you have the option to use a Custom difficulty.

    Thanks.

  • @EA_DavidIt mentioned that all the DLCs have been unlocked and that I should use steam to download all them, no option to install it through origin, and when I installed EA Desktop it doesn't recognize any of my games from origin including DAI. I don't have access to the CD key because of the EA exploit so I can't redeem the code on there

Edit: there is no option for custom difficulty

Edit 2: I reinstalled the game once more but now Origin is allowing me to 'download' all the DLCs, I went through them all but it doesn't seem to make a difference.

Edit 3: Build ID has now changed to 5723675 if that helps

I'm having the same problem as everyone else here but I just have the EA Play version off steam and hoping a fix is found soon. App ID:1222690 Build ID:5723675

  • @EA_David Yes, I played DAI via EA Play. App ID: 1222690, Build ID: 0

No thanks to EA or Steam, I have discovered that Steam has registered two copies of the game - apparently, the EA Play version, and the GOTY version. Seems to be preventing authentication.

Thank you for the details given,  we've passed the info up for investigation. Unfortunately I don't have a more substantial update right now.

  • Hello, I have the exact same issue stated by others in this thread, I also played DA:I GOTY through ea play and then bought it for myself. My Build ID is 5723675 and my app ID is 1222690. Hopefully the issue is addressed soon

I feel like i should add that whenever i try to repair my DA:I through steam, origin "forgets" that i downloaded the game. When the repair finishes and i try to open up the game, an error on origin will show stating that the game is not downloaded. I fixed this by restarting origin, but i cant help but feel like this is connected in some way...

  • Has this been fixed? Because I'm having this problem. After I bought the game on steam after playing with the EA-play subscription. After that the game says it can't find any of the DLC.

Last I heard someone got it to work by making sure that Steam shows the DLC installed, and then using the repair function on Origin to fix the install.  Once that was done, it worked for them.
