1. Not all the time, but it needs to be running when you're playing.

2. Saves are made locally, but there is also cloud save support. Regardless, Origin will be running while you play.

3. Origin can automatically log in when you start your machine, but it's optional.

Note that "Logged In" in this case doesn't have to mean "online". Origin needs to be online for the initial activation of the game, at which point you can set it to Offline and forget about it, at least until some updates come out.

As for performance, from a personal perspective I don't find it to be an issue. Considering the relative power needed for modern games, I've found the impact of multiple game launchers to be negligible. I can only speak for myself though.

It's curious that you mention DA II, this was integrated into Origin in much the same way as Inquisition is.

when i played DA2 then Origin was not needed, maybe Origind did not even exist back then, also it was not my game so i did not have DAO & DA2 saves to import i made my own save in Keep
1 question, if servers go offline it dose not effect gameplay? & i can play?

if u ask why i did not buy, i W8 for when they make DVD where is game + all DLC, i want to buy full back, both games + all DLC (well don't care so much about item backs 😃 but they would not make half if they would have made that kind of game DVD with all DLC'S), cause they did not make that type of a DVD to DA2 i did not buy, also not gonna grind points to get all DLC for DA2
DAI i bought, it surpasses DAO & its worth it, well DAO is to, but i explained why i did not buy DAO, cause i wanted to buy both games DVD with all DLC from store

what u mean i can go offline with Origin? can i do it wit game to?, i ask cause some bugs happen cause of online stuff i think, so i guess game shouls be cut off from online & origin

how to disable Origin advertising pop up that pops up at PC startup? if i want to know what new i go to origin page, also there are other places where i can get that info, so advertising pop ups are not nessesary

what is originclientservice & what does it do
it was running first time i installed it & next day it was not running, i think it has been week new, today i see it running again, what it is & what it does? does it has to run all the time or not?
