Re: Refreshed windows 8 and now Origin won't Recognize game

Its not working at all, it's not even showing any games in my library (mass effect and Titanfall, dragon Age 2), when I look at my purchase history it shows the amount of money I've spent for each but the titles are blank as well my achievements are all wiped it's like everything has been removed, I have no idea what's happen

When I got into the DAI folder and double click the exe file I get a massage saying: to play DisplayName field missing from registry., you must first activate it in your origin account

What do you mean by Refresh??  Do you mean you re-installed the Op system??

If you reset the registry of the Op system, then you will have to re-install Origin, and all the games to get them to work again.  So one thing to try, if that is the case...get origin working, find the folder for the games in Origin, then copy and move them away.  Start an install of the game in Origin, let it run for a short time and make sure it is DLing the game.  Pause the download, and then move the game back into the place where origin is installing the game, and then restart the download...Origin will then realize that the game is all there, and then complete the install allowing you to play.

So, move the data of the games out...

    start install download....

Pause the download(don't stop it, Pause it)...

    move the data back...

    continue the download....

    See if it works....

Also....have you by any chance set the Origin filters at top of page for the app to Installed games, or are they showing All games??

If all else fails take a screenshot and post it to a host site and link it here...

By Refresh I mean, a windows refresh it keeps all your files and data and refreshes windows, my computer was getting abnormally slow for reasons that I couldn't figure out so refreshed windows. I have a 256 GB SSD as my C drive a SSHD as my storage drive for docs, music and downloads, and a separate High Performance 4TB drive for games.

To try the method of starting an install download of the games, the game should come up under the games tab it does not, there are no filter options that I can find that allows me to change what I can see, my library shows up as blank but my payment history does show my purchases , but under description it says : Description unavailable but it does provide a order number.

here is what I seethe "My Games" Tab

and here is what is on the Payments tab

In the Origin tab at top it has an option to reload my games..what happens if you click it?

What happens if you sign out of Origin, close it, and then restart it and sign back in??

You may also try reinstalling origin and seeing if it fixes the issue.  But if this doesn't work then you will need to contact EA directly and talk to accounts/Origin team.  This forum is a player to player help center, and thus can't do anything about the inner workings of accounts.

http://help.ea.com/en/      if the above doesn't work.

Yeah I tried all of those restarted, signed in and out and everything, the reload games function does nothing Thanks for all the advice I shall get into contact with Origin and see how it goes.
