@NotAGamergirlzzZ Can you attach a screenshot of the error for me?

Do you have Steam, the game, and the DLC all on the same drive?

Do you have multiple drives on your PC?

@NotAGamergirlzzZ Thank you for the information that helps. So I've done this myself as I have two drives. One for the OS  and one for games.

So, this will be a bit annoying and I apologize.

What I need you to do is uninstall everything related to the game.

When you go back into Steam, change the folder location so that it matches the drive that Steam is on.

When you install the DLC from the site, do the same thing. They need to be on the same drive for testing purposes.

I've been dealing with this error since release. One of the most common reasons is the registry for each drive does not recognize you own it, or it is installed. Its a huge pain I know and I am reinstalling it myself now through Steam just to make sure I don't get the same error but I am installing it on the same drive.

Once that is done let me know if it works or if you get the same error.

@EA_Shepard Hi thanks for telling me this, I will try this later when I’m free.

Anyways I would like to ask you about what you said to remove everything related to the game.

    1. Does this mean I have to delete all mods in my game’s document as well?
    2. do I have to delete the whole document folder?
    3. will all my saves gone and can’t be recovered? (I’m also not sure if DA2 have could save or not, could you please clarify)
    4. I’m currently in Act 2, if I managed to get the mods working, will I am be able to play it all?
    5. Could you pls clarify in each Dlc lists that which one is accessible in which act too pls, I don’t want to miss it. thanks!

    @NotAGamergirlzzZ

This problem could theoretically be caused by mods, so I would recommend a completely clean installation.

Your Saves Files are in "Dokumente\Bioware\Dragon Age 2\Characters", you can back up the "Characters" folder and put it back at any time after the problem is solved.
(Cloud storage is never a sufficient backup method anyway.)

You should be able to play from the point you are at now without a problem if you install the same DLC and Mods you used as the safe was made.
New DLCs will not interfere with that at all.

If you cannot install all mods, it should still be possible to force the game to load, but that depends on the mod.

    For point 5: https://dragonage.fandom.com/wiki/Downloadable_content_(Dragon_Age_II)
