Re: Stuck at Darvaarad gate in DAI: Trespasser

Hi @b1nary_solo,

Dedicated Memory: 32 MB isn't much but perhaps try to update the drivers first as they are a bit outdated. 8/27/2015 18:20:32, 11053048 bytes.

That may suffice.

Keep us updated.

Thank you. I should have mentioned, I already updated my drivers a few weeks ago in response to other problems with the game (like lagging), so unfortunately I don't think that will solve the problem. But I could try doing it again if you think that'll help?

I also forgot to mention, I have quite a large number of save files in DAI (over 200. I always forget to go back and delete the old ones...). Do you think deleting some of those would make a difference?

    Hi @b1nary_solo,

That's worth trying. Just in case have you tried to load a previous save to see if that changed anything? It could be the save you're using right now that is the problem.

Hey, so the issue's been resolved! Unfortunately, I'm not 100% sure what I did to solve it. I checked my drivers, but apparently they were already up to date prior to the glitch, so I don't think that was what did it.

All I can think is that I went back to the beginning of the area (not the beginning of the quest, I just physically walked back to the beginning of the fortress) created a new save in that location, and then loaded the new save (does that make sense?). So I'm thinking that maybe it was just creating the new save that did it?

I also had my resolution turned down to 70% or so. Don't know if that made any difference (I'd already tried unsuccessfully on a lower resolution) but I suppose if anyone encounters this problem in the future, turning graphics down couldn't hurt.

Sorry I can't provide a more concrete answer, but thanks for your help! I'll let you know if any other problems arise.

Creating the new save probably helped. At any rate great to hear it finally worked. 🙂 Let us know if you have more questions.

Hey, hope it's okay for me to post in the same thread.

I'm having the exact same problem as before, except now it's the wheels you turn to free the dragon at the end of the area that are giving me trouble. It's literally the exact some issue. However, the solutions that worked for the gate door aren't working now. I've tried loading an autosave, turning the graphics down, creating new saves, and restarting the game. What else could I try?

@b1nary_solo Just checking, did you remember to smash the... things (a cart? Crates? I can't remember) on the ground (with your rift ability thing) before using (I think, has been a while since I played) the outside ring? If you don't, you can't move it into the correct position.

It can be a bit hard to figure out these issues on computers that don't meet the minimum requirements, as you don't know what's down to the computer not being able to handle it (which can cause some random bugs with this game) and what could be something else (like your save issue previously).

Apologies for the vague wording, operating off (bad) memory and I'm sleepy. 😛

    No problem, your wording's fine!

I did smash the crate. I'm doing everything correctly gameplay-wise. When I turn the wheel, though, the rings don't respond. Sometimes the first one will respond, but not every time I play. And the second and third rings never turn no matter what I do, which is the same as what happened at the gate earlier in the area. It appears to be some sort of bug ☹️
